Description:
Despitesignificant strides in digital infrastructure and connectivity—especially inthe GCC—large portions of the MENA population remain excluded from the digital economydue to their limited digital competencies. This gap is particularly acute for youthand women in the region, where participation in digital sectors remainslow. Current upskilling efforts often lack data-backed alignment with labor marketdemand, risking inefficient investments and missed opportunities.Tobridge this gap, the World Bank will conduct a market-driven assessment ofdigital skills demand and supply in selected MENA countries (Saudi Arabia,Egypt, and Lebanon), with a focus on improving employability for youth (ages17-25) and women.
